SHRIMP Tool

What is SHRIMP?

SHRIMP (“Simple, Handy, Risk-based Integrity Management Plan”) is an online tool that assists operators of natural gas distribution systems to develop a complete, written Distribution Integrity Management Program (DIMP) plan individualized for their system. While created with small natural gas distribution system operators in mind, it may be used by an operator of any size.

How much does SHRIMP cost?

The SIF designed SHRIMP to be an affordable DIMP tool for natural gas distribution system operators. Proceeds are rolled back into technical support and enhancements to SHRIMP. Pricing is tiered based on system size (i.e., the number of meters or customers that an operator serves).

Operator size* (# of meters or customers) Cost/year
1–1,000 $19/year
1,001–5,000 $395
5,001–20,000 $995
20,001–35,000 $1,995
35,001–50,000 $2,995
50,001–75,000 $3,995
Over 75,000 $5,000

*For master meter and LP piping system operators, size is determined by # of units served

SHRIMP fees are due in full for the year at the time of purchase. Monthly or deferred payment schedules are not accepted.
